New Pope Elected

Cardinal Ratzinger is elected pope. He chooses the name Benidict XVI. Benidict is a name usually chosen by reformists, often by those wish to undo conservative rule of a previous pope. THis is particularly interesting given that Ratzinger/Benidict has been a conservative for many years, though he started as liberal when he was at vatican two as an assistant.

I bet that the Catholic ban on birth control will fall quickly, but their opposition to homosexuality and the ordination of women will continue.
